Burt Abrams
Burt Abrams
founded B. J. Abrams & Associates in April of 1989. Burt
brings to your search the same qualities that have proven successful
for him in his extensive management and human resource-related endeavors.
He is an 18-year veteran of human resources with expertise in recruiting,
labor and employee relations. His career is marked by a steady
climb through the ranks of varied companies, giving him a broad
knowledge of hiring and management techniques and practices.
Prior to founding
his own firm, Burt served as director of human resources for the
material handling division of Interlake Corporation in Oak Brook.
He handled human resource responsibilities at five plants of the
companys largest division. He joined the Chicago Sun-Times
in 1981 as labor relations manager and three years later he was
named the director of employee relations. He began his human resource
career as a training coordinator for Sweetheart Cup and advanced
over the next eight years, becoming employment manager, plant personnel
manager and personnel manager at the companys largest plant
at Ford City.
A graduate in
management of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Burt also holds
a masters degree in industrial relations from Loyola University.
He has taught management and human resource classes at Oakton Community
College, National Louis University and the Management Association
of Illinois. Raised in the Chicago area, Burt (an avid tennis player)
and his wife are the parents of two sons and live in Chicagos
northern suburbs.
